An Inspiring Evening with Evansville Native Denise Thomas
Denise Thomas kicked off her book release, The Only Room in the Room, at Evansville African American Museum.
Inspiration was a common reaction among participants who gathered at the Evansville African American Museum on Dec. 21 to celebrate Evansville native Denise Thomas and the release of her book, The Only One in the Room. Thomas is the founder of The Effective Communication Coach and a seasoned leadership expert. During her remarks, she reminded attendees that effective communication is a leadership superpower and that owning your voice matters—especially when you’re “the only one in the room.”
Her foundation, DT3, also made a generous $1,000 donation to the Evansville African American Museum. The evening included opening remarks from Mayor Stephanie Terry, a discussion moderated by Mrs. Lana Burton, refreshments catered by Smalbert’s Comfort Food, warm fellowship, and a book signing.
