Family Day at the Park Returns Sept. 5

One of Evansville’s longtime community traditions is returning under its original name.

Evansville Cultural Experience (ECE) has announced that it will serve as the new organizer of Family Day at the Park, continuing the annual event while honoring its history and community roots.

Originally established in 1999, Family Day at the Park has long brought families together for a day of entertainment, food, local vendors, community resources, youth activities, and cultural celebration. Organizers say restoring the event’s original name reflects a commitment to preserving the tradition while building on it for future generations.

The event will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Attendees can expect:

• Live entertainment and cultural performances
• Local food vendors and small businesses
• Community organizations and nonprofit resources
• Youth and family activities
• Health and wellness information
• Opportunities to support local entrepreneurs

Evansville Cultural Experience, the nonprofit organization that also produces Evansville’s annual Juneteenth Celebration, says it views Family Day at the Park as an opportunity to continue celebrating community, culture, and family while carrying forward the legacy established over the past two decades.
