Black Business Month is over. Here’s an opportunity for entrepreneurs to keep building

Keep the momentum of Black Business Month going. On Sept. 24, entrepreneurs can join a free virtual USBC AI Lab to learn practical ways to streamline workflows, automate routine tasks and make more time for growth. Registration is open, but space is limited.

Black Business Month may have wrapped up in August, but supporting and strengthening Black-owned businesses is year-round work.

Small-business owners and entrepreneurs will have another opportunity to build their skills Sept. 24 through the U.S. Black Chambers Inc., which is hosting Level Up Your Business With USBC AI Lab, a virtual workshop focused on practical ways businesses can use artificial intelligence.

The 45-minute workshop begins at 1 p.m. Eastern Time and will be led by presenter Kat Sheperd. Registration is open to members of local USBC chamber affiliates, guests and the general public.

The session will focus on using AI in everyday business operations, including ways entrepreneurs can streamline workflows, automate routine tasks and make more efficient use of their time.

For small businesses with limited staff and resources, learning how to use emerging technology can be particularly important. AI tools are increasingly being used for tasks ranging from research and marketing to customer communication, administrative work and business planning. The workshop offers entrepreneurs an opportunity to explore those tools through a business-focused lens.

The event is also an entry point into a broader network of resources.

USBC works with Black chambers and businesses across the country and has partnered with Verizon Small Business Digital Ready, an online platform offering small-business owners training, tools and other resources. The platform has also offered grant opportunities to eligible small businesses.

Participants in the Sept. 24 workshop are encouraged to complete at least one Verizon Small Business Digital Ready AI tool or resource before attending. Free courses, digital tools and AI training are available through the platform in partnership with USBC and Next Street.

For entrepreneurs who spent Black Business Month thinking about how to grow, strengthen or sustain their businesses, September offers a chance to put some of that energy into action.
