To meet this need, Pam Jordon launched Numerologi, a bookkeeping and accounting firm that serves clients seeking a trusted financial partner.

Why did you start the business?

I started this business to help local business owners take the stress out of their numbers. Many entrepreneurs love their craft, and they struggle with recordkeeping, cash flow tracking, and tax planning. I wanted to build a firm that does more than just crunch numbers. My goal is to act as a trusted financial partner. I help clients understand their financial data so they can make smart, confident choices. Seeing a local business owner gain peace of mind and clarity is why I do this work every single day.

What do I hope the business provides for the community?

I hope to provide stability, growth, and financial literacy to the Evansville business community. When local small businesses succeed, our entire local economy grows stronger and creates more opportunities. By taking the heavy burden of bookkeeping off their shoulders, I give owners their valuable time back to focus on their customers and families. I also aim to be an accessible resource. I want local entrepreneurs to feel comfortable asking financial questions without judgment, knowing they have a trusted resource and dedicated ally in their corner.

What has been the biggest challenge launching the business?

The biggest challenge is building trust. Business owners are very protective of their financial data. Convincing them to switch to a new, independent provider requires extra patience and proof of reliability. Another hurdle is managing my own time. I wear a lot of hats and get asked to participate in a lot of non-business conversations — it is hard to balance growth with quality service and community engagement. Overcoming this means setting strict routines and leaning on modern automation tools to handle repetitive tasks efficiently.

What is your advice for aspiring entrepreneurs?

Do not wait for everything to be perfect before you launch but do plan well. You will learn more in your first month of actual operations than you will in a year of planning. Focus heavily on solving a real problem for your customers rather than just selling a service. Build strong local relationships and lean into your community. Word-of-mouth recommendations are priceless, especially in a welcoming city like Evansville. Finally, protect your mental energy, stay patient through slow seasons, and remember that steady, honest progress wins over overnight success.
