Habitat cuts ribbon on 600th home

On Wednesday May 8, 2024, Habitat for Humanity of Evansville celebrated the ribbon cutting on its 600th home!!!

Here in Evansville, one of the smaller Habitat for Humanity affiliates celebrated a huge milestone on that day. The home was dedicated to Cameron Hailey, a young man, who has overcome obstacles to make a way for he and his family.

Being one of the smaller markets in the nation and global world of Habitat makes it that much sweeter to see our community be able to add to the housing market stable, safe, and affordable housing for families within our community. According to Beth Folz, Executive Director, the Evansville affiliate is only the 25th affiliate to celebrate this milestone! In attendance for the momentous occasion were Mayor Stephanie Terry, Beth Folz, Jessica Welcher–Executive Director of Community One; Rev. Adrian M. Brooks–President & Founder of Memorial CDC; Danyelle Granger–Board President for Habitat, other Habitat affiliate officials; Representatives for the state board, as well as many community partners, family, friends, and community members.

Habitat went on to later celebrate its 40th anniversary that night at the Bauerhaus to celebrate the work that they’ve done over the last 40 years as well as look to the future of what they hope to accomplish!
