Evansville City Council Brief

On Monday, Evansville City Council met and covered zoning, mobile home aid, and new floodplain standards. The next meeting is Monday, May 11th.

This week’s Evansville City Council meeting was held April 27 at 5:30 p.m., with eight members present: Kendra Hatfield, Angela Koehler Lindsey, Jim Brinkmeyer, Mary Allen, Rita Taylor, Zac Heronemus, Paul Green and Courtney Johnson. Ben Trockman was absent. All items on the consent agenda were approved.

An update to the city’s floodplain management standards was adopted. Additionally, $15,000 was transferred to the Mobile Home Relief Fund to assist residents of the Oakhill Road Trailer Court.

Council members also approved the rezoning of 203 NW Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd from C-4 to CO-2, with plans to convert the space into an Airbnb.

A resolution was adopted to establish the Republic Economic Development Area on the east side of Evansville, near the intersection of Vogel Road and Cross Pointe Boulevard. The designation separates it from the existing Evansville Burkhardt Road Economic Development Area.
