High Spirits Liquor Permit Decision Delayed Until October
Update on the High Spirits hearing.
Neighbors opposed to the High Spirits liquor store at the corner of Walnut and Kentucky must wait another month to have their voices heard.
The location and ownership transfer of liquor permit DL 8233715 was on the agenda of the Vanderburgh County Alcoholic Beverage Board on Tuesday, September. 9. However, there was no quorum of board members present and the permit transfer was continued.
It is now scheduled for the local board’s meeting on October 14, at 1pm in Room 307 of the Civic Center.
The lack of a quorum has been an issue at recent beverage board meetings. Also on Tuesday, Vanderburgh County Commissioners appointed Bob Deig to fill the remaining term of board member Jaime Emig, who resigned. Deig’s term will expire at the end of 2025. Deig formerly served in the Indiana Senate. He ran unsuccessfully for the Vanderburgh County Council in 2024.
