Last Friday evening, a multitude gathered to the newly inaugurated Mayor, Stephanie Terry, in a lavish celebration that resonated with joy and influential networking. The diverse group of attendees featured individuals from various backgrounds and demographics, creating a vibrant atmosphere of unity.
The festivities commenced with a VIP reception before transitioning seamlessly into the Ballroom, which boasted elegant décor, diverse musical genres, video tributes to the mayor, dinner, and dancing. Mayor Stephanie Terry, exuding charisma, graced the occasion in her formal attire, showcasing her versatility with a change of formal gowns. The evening’s chill provided the perfect backdrop for many to flaunt their mink fur coats and stoles, with men donning formal tuxedos while escorting their favorite ladies in elegant gowns. It was an unmissable event.
Representatives from diverse sectors, pastors from various denominations, medical and legal professionals, retirees, and others came together to celebrate this historic occasion honoring Evansville’s 35th Mayor. The event served as a platform for Evansville to embrace its diverse identity over the years. Stephanie Terry’s election marked a significant milestone as she became Evansville’s first African American and female mayor.
The Honorable Aleesia Tolliver Johnson, superintendent of the Indianapolis Public School System and a native of Evansville, Indiana, presided over the ceremony, adding a touch of distinction to the event.
