What started as a creative outlet for Taneasha Torain, quickly turned into a passion for bringing people’s vision to life. Twist of Magic Balloons OPC is a balloon décor business that specializes in creating custom balloon designs for celebrations and special events-transforming ordinary spaces into unforgettable experiences with color and creativity.

WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS?

I started Twisted of Magic Balloons OPC after creating balloon decorations for my daughter’s second birthday party. I’ve always loved creativity, and I realize how much joy balloons could bring to a celebration.  Balloons aren’t just decorations — they set the mood and create moments people remember. I also wanted to build something meaningful for myself and my community.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE THIS BUSINESS PROVIDES FOR THE COMMUNITY?

I hope my business brings joy and memorable experiences to people’s special moments. I take pride in the attention to detail and the personal touches I bring to each event. I don’t just deliver balloons — I bring ideas to life in a way that feels custom and intentional for every client. As a Black business owner, entrepreneurship is also about legacy, empowerment, and representation. It shows others in our community that we can build, create, and thrive in any space. I’m proud to contribute to economic growth and hopefully inspire others to turn their ideas into reality.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE THROUGHOUT LAUNCHING YOUR BUSINESS?

Like many small business owners, I’ve had to learn everything from marketing and time management to finances. Building something from the ground up can be tough, but every challenge has helped me grow stronger, smarter, and more confident as a business owner.

WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE TO ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS?

Don’t hold back. You are your business, and when you put yourself out there, you’re putting your vision out into the community. Be willing to stand out and be different instead of trying to be the same as everyone else.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR YOUR BUSINESS?

My focus now is growth: expanding my client base, building strong partnerships in the community, and continuing to elevate my designs. I want my brand to be known for excellence, creativity, and professionalism. I am grateful to every client who trusts me to be part of their special moments, and my goal is always to exceed expectations and create something beautiful, memorable, and meaningful.
