The United Way of Southwestern Indiana’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program officially kicked off Tuesday and will run through April 15, offering free tax preparation for eligible individuals and families.

Any household with an annual income of less than $67,000 in 2025, as well as adults age 60 and older or individuals with disabilities, may qualify to have their taxes prepared at no cost.

VITA services are available at multiple locations across Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Spencer counties, with Spanish-speaking tax preparers available at three locations.

Participants should bring all required documents, including photo ID, Social Security numbers (or ITINs), income documents (such as W-2s or 1099s), and banking information for direct deposit.
