The NAACP Evansville Branch is calling on women across the community to step into leadership, service, and advocacy by joining its Women in NAACP (WIN) Committee. This dynamic group is dedicated to empowering women, strengthening families, and advancing equity throughout Evansville.

The WIN Committee plays a vital role in carrying forward the NAACP’s mission. Members work collaboratively to elevate women’s voices within the Association and the broader community, while addressing issues that directly affect women and children.

What Is WIN?

The Women in NAACP Committee focuses on:

  • Enhancing women’s leadership within the NAACP and in community spaces where representation matters.
  • Advocating for the well-being of women and children, including social, economic, political, educational, health, and welfare issues.
  • Supporting the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual development of children, helping lay the foundation for healthier futures.
  • Advancing the mission and vision of the NAACP through civil rights engagement, cultural programming, and grassroots activism.

Whether you can commit a few hours a month or you feel called to take on a deeper leadership role, the WIN Committee welcomes your gifts, your voice, and your passion for community.

The NAACP Evansville Branch is part of the nation’s oldest and largest civil rights organization, dedicated to securing political, educational, social, and economic equality for all people. Rasheedah Ajibade is a dedicated and experienced professional with strong leadership and project management skills. She holds a M.S. in Public Service Administration from the University of Evansville, B.A. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from the University of Southern Indiana and is a candidate for the Accredited Financial Counseling certification program.

Currently, as the Chief Editor at Adrian M Brooks Sr. Foundation-Our Times Newspaper, she sets the vision for the style and voice of the publication, manages staff, and oversees operations and policies. Additionally, she serves as the Chief Program Officer at Memorial Community Development Corp, leading program planning, implementation, and fund development since June 2017. In her previous role as Childcare Director at the same organization, she managed business operations and launched new programs from August 2010 to May 2017. Rasheedah is a servant leader who excels in fostering partnerships, securing funding, and driving innovative strategies for growth and development.
