Black Business Spotlight

Meet Pat Harris, Owner of Tri-Sky USA

What began as a vision to handle debris, junk removal, and lawn care, has grown into a certified MBE/DBE business serving Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. Pat Harris shares why Tri-Sky USA is about more than hauling and cleanup, but helping families, businesses, and neighborhoods thrive.

Why did you start this business?

I started Tri-Sky USA to provide reliable waste management and property services while creating opportunities in our community. My goal has always been to build a company that delivers practical solutions—like dumpster rentals, storm cleanup, and property maintenance—while standing for integrity, hard work, and pride in serving people.

What do you hope this business provides for the community?

I hope this business provides the community with dependable services that make life easier—whether that’s cleaning up properties, removing debris, or keeping neighborhoods safe and well-maintained. Beyond the work itself, I want Tri-Sky USA to create jobs, open doors for other small businesses, and show that local, minority-owned companies can make a lasting positive impact. At the heart of it, we want to serve, support, and give back to the people who trust us.

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge has been balancing the many moving parts, building a solid foundation, securing certifications, and earning trust—while maintaining day-to-day operations. Starting a business takes faith in the Lord, persistence and patience, and there were moments where resources felt stretched thin. But each challenge pushed me to grow, adapt, and stay focused on the long-term vision for Tri-Sky USA.

What is your advice to aspiring entrepreneurs?

My advice is to stay consistent, even when the process feels slow. Don’t be afraid to start small because every big business begins with one step. Surround yourself with people who support your vision, keep learning, and remember that challenges are part of the journey. Most importantly, keep your faith first. God will provide a way and always believe in yourself and your idea, because if you don’t, no one else will.
